My 5 Summer Daytime Makeup Must Haves

Sorry guys, it has taken me like foooorrrrrever to get a beauty blog posted, so long actually I'm a little worried you might not read this, however, I’m giving it my best shot. So, while we have been very lucky with this year’s summer, the suns just about hanging on out there I’ve managed to quickly put together some of my day time beauty products for this summer.Firstly, don't forget to use a nice moisturiser to help keep the skin hydrated in this weather. I use the Sensibo light from the Bioderma Range available from Boots. Also, drinking water really does help hydrate the skin. I remind all my clients to keep hydrated before a makeup application. It makes the world of difference. Do I actually practice what I preach? That’s debatable.

So after intensely moisturising my face in some areas and leaving the moisture off in others (hormones are through the roof. No idea what my skin is doing these days!), I have been applying a very light layer of Mac “Lightful tinted cream”. This light and airy layer is perfect for the slightly warmer days. It’s not as heavy as the foundations, and glides on smoothly leaving a dewy post-holiday glow that we wait all year for. Who needs a “Vay-Cay” to look this good these days. I have two colours of this tube, the “Medium Plus” and “Medium Deep”, the next shade darker. Your skin obviously gets darker in the sun so I always start the summer, or the first few days of my holiday with the lighter shade. I deepen the colour as the days go on and my skins tans naturally, slightly adding a little hint of a darker shade at a time. I could quite possible become addicted to this glow and even stick with these two shades all year, adjusting the consistency as I go. Definitely a must have.

As usual I never leave the house without a couple of luscious layers of Maybelline “Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara” (thats a mouthful). I have used this mascara for soooo many years that I should really have shares in it. It works so why change it? I add two coats to my lashes brushing and wriggling from root to tip. I then use the end of the brush to gently smudge some mascara on the bottom lashes. I'm very lucking my lashes are generally long on the bottom and this dramatically reveals that. This bad boy mascara not only lengthens the lashes but gives that added volume we all crave. No need for extra lashes with this magic formula. One less thing to add to the makeup bag on holiday.

No face would be complete without a gentle brush of blush on your cheek bones. My Summer fave is NYX’s “Sweet Cheeks Bush Palette.” These perfectly soft powder blushes will turn you into that bronze beauty, leave a pink flush, or turn up the heat with their more intense shades. These powders are silky smooth and bush on so easily, with the correct intensity, so there is no need to apply too many layers. This is my must have palette, with its versatile shades, to take you from that peachy glow to that golden goddess, this day to night formulas is sticking with me for the summer.

I’m finishing off my look with Mac beautifully blush “Lip Glass in Cindy box”. This “good enough to eat” shade will perfect your pout with its slight hint of pink. Some lip pencils and matt lipsticks can dry out your lips especially when the weather is so hot. It’s all about Vaseline, lip stain and getting glossy. A little gloss instantly plumps that pout and who couldn't resist those kissable lips.

At times, this weather has been far too hot to handle. There has been absolutely no point in putting make up on this so I’ve been living life as a mascara and I’m good to go girl. Maybe she's born with it maybe its Maybelline...
