4 Simple Spring makeup must-haves for your makeup bag this May
Updated: May 15
Spring is in the air! Spring Officially arrived on the 20th of March, but it feels like it has finally arrived these past few weeks.
The weather is turning a little warmer and brighter, the days a little longer, and the rain has been trying to hold off some days. Spring is one of my favourite seasons. I'm a season-change lover. I love everything Spring and Autumn have to offer. The countryside is the most beautiful place to be during these seasons. There is always something exciting going on. Months full of birthdays, weddings, and just creating happy memories with friends and family. I have never really believed myself to be a fan of change, but maybe I am a little more of an optimist than I ever thought.
With spring hopefully finally upon us, I have put together my usual day-to-day makeup look to have a more spring-like feel for that brisk walk through the woods or just out to grab a coffee to keep you on the go.
It will take you 5 minutes to put together with minimal effort.
It's always about the glow this season with healthy flushed cheeks. You know the glow! Like you have just arrived from a brisk walk through the countryside and landed yourself in the nearest country pub you find. Your skin is plumped, fresh and full of life.
MAC Studio Face and Body is a beautiful sheer foundation, you can build up as much or as little as you like. If you apply one light layer, it will leave you with a barely-there look that will add a gentle glow to your skin, apply a second layer to even out your skin tone a bit more.
Add a little rosiness to your cheeks with a few taps of cream blushes. Try something bright like MAC Glow Play Blush in Groovy
I love the bright peach and coral shades to warm up and add colour to my complexion. Initially, the 'bright' blushes can look a little intimidating, but less is more, swipe on with a finger and blend through with a damp beauty blender to pat it into your cheeks and remove any excess product.
Lips all you need is Vaseline tint lip balm
Vaseline is less sticky than a lip gloss and feels lighter on the lips. The "tinted" one "Rosey Lips" leaves a simple hint of colour, leaving your look soft and natural. You will be giving them a moisturising treat and protecting them from the fresh spring mornings. Head over to Boots.com to add to your basket.
Swipe on a few coats of mascara then you are good to go!
My favourite and most used is Maybelline lash sensational mascara in Very Black. You can always opt for a brown mascara to soften this look even more.
This is probably my quickest makeup look to put together, and you can easily use these steps for any occasion, just a brisk afternoon walk with friends or even popping into the office to pick up your mail.
It is a quick style that leaves you looking a little more alive than just using your usual skincare routine for that barely there vibe.
